Lauren Conrad is making it official: Toned is the new skinny.
The lifestyle guru, 29, announced on Monday that “body shaming terms” like “skinny,” “slim” and “thin” are completely banned from her website laurenconrad.com.
“Starting this month, we’ll be banning any body shaming terms from the site, and replacing them with words like ‘fit’ ‘toned,’ and ‘healthy,’ ” she wrote in a blog post.
“My editorial team and I had a long talk about it, and we want to make sure that the focus is on being fit as opposed to a number on the scale,” wrote the former reality star who married attorney William Tell in September. “Every body is created differently – and healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes.”
But there is one fashion-related exception to the rule.
“The word skinny will now be reserved for skinny jeans,” she wrote.
